It seems like not too long ago you’d only see flower products from King City Gardens. I always wondered when they would branch out. They’ve now expanded their offerings to include 510 carts, disposable vapes and gummies.

As a budtender, it is my sworn duty to consume as many cannabis products as I can in order to inform you, the patient, about the nuances of these wares. Because of this, I picked up a 1 gram King City Gardens liquid diamonds disposable to experience its function and effects.

It seems as if King City released these liquid diamonds disposables as a response to the mega-popular iKrushers from Certified Cultivators. Both King City and Certified’s products feature liquid diamond BHO, but King City’s product has botanical terpenes while the iKrushers do not.

For what it’s worth, on the dispensary menu and packaging, the King City liquid diamonds disposable doesn’t contain the word “live”, but the iKrusher specifically has the word “live” in front of their liquid diamond disposable.

The Certified iKrusher label says it contains “Butane and propane extracted live cannabis resin”. It doesn’t say anything about added terpenes. Some iKrushers also contain CBD isolate. The King City disposable label says it is “Processed with pure N-butane. Contains cannabis extract, CBD and natural flavors (Lime Sherbet Punch terpene strain profile).”

Edit: A few days after writing this article I had a chance encounter with a King City brand rep. She told me that the King City Liquid Diamond disposables are indeed made from cured flower, therefore their liquid diamonds are not “live”.

The rep explained that they use butane to extract hash oil from cured flower and then put that BHO under pressure to create diamonds. They then liquify those diamonds and add botanical terpenes from non-cannabis plants to make up for the lack of terps due to the use of cured flower as opposed to flash-frozen fresh harvest cannabis.

The King City Gardens 1 gram Lime Sherbet Punch Liquid Diamonds disposable came packaged in a black opaque mylar baggie with a childproof zip lock. The device was 2 and 3/4 inches long and about a half inch wide at its largest point. As you can see in the image below it was shaped to fit nicely in the palm of your hand, kind of like one of those CCELL Palm 510 batteries.

The bottom of the device had a USB-C recharge port. I charged the device on a wall charger and the oil didn’t taste burnt afterwards. I never had any issues with the battery running out while out in the field.

There was an oil level window on the right side of the device underneath the mouthpiece. It lit up while charging and taking a draw!

Each flavor contains a different color King City lion logo and “KCG” graffiti. The Lime Sherbet Punch had light green branding.

There were no buttons on the vape. Each draw was breath-activated. To my knowledge there was only one temperature setting and I am not sure what it was. The oil didn’t taste burnt or hot, so the temp must have been fairly low.

While looking at the oil through the window I noticed a clearish golden yellow color. It was thick and took a long time to shift around when the vape was laid down on its side, which in my opinion is a good thing.

Unlike the iKrusher, the King City liquid diamonds disposable didn’t smell like cannabis. I really enjoyed the sharp smell and taste of its lime terpenes. The oil was smooth during my inhale but upon exhaling I would often cough, sneeze or produce phlegm. It was noticeably harsher than the iKrusher’s ultra-graceful weedy exhale, probably because of the botanical terpenes.

While the inhale was a bit air-heavy like most disposables, I was happy with the function of the King City liquid diamonds disposable. The package said a 7 second inhale gave you a 14 milligram dose of product. I usually took 3 to 4 second draws to avoid coughing too much. After a few hits in a row I could usually tamper down on the coughing.

I did not experience leaking or clogging with this device. The mouthpiece didn’t get sticky and the airflow remained consistent throughout the disposable’s lifespan. There have been times where iKrushers have clogged and even stopped working on me with oil remaining, so I was happy with the function of the King City liquid diamond disposable.

At 75% THC this device packed a nice medical punch. After a few solid draws I felt sufficiently Selassified. The oil seemed to last a long time. It would have been nice to count the number of draws I took on this thing but I toked away for several days while the device held strong.

After some time with this new vape I gave it a good rating. I would not only buy this device again buy I’d also like to try the other flavors. I still think the iKrusher has smoother, better tasting oil, but if you don’t mind botanical terpenes you’ll probably enjoy these King City liquid diamond disposables.

Edit: I later bought a Watermelon Zkittlez King City liquid diamond disposable and it did not work. Upon inhale, the light on the device would illuminate, but no vapor was produced. I had to return it. Upon return, the budtender told me the dispensary was having a lot of performance issues with these devices.

I gave this vape a 7 for taste, 6 for harshness, 7 for strength, 6 for smell strength and 30 to 45 minutes for length of medical effects.

Filled with cannabis extract, CBD and natural flavors (Lime Sherbet Punch terpene strain profile) for vaporization. Processed with pure N-butane.

Dose: 14mg per 7 second inhale. Net weight: 1 gram.

Total THC 752mg, Delta-9 THC 736mg, THCA 10.9mg, THCV 6.5mg, CBD 124mg, CBG 3.5mg.
