Galenas The Bridge Hybrid Flower 22.4% THC: I Crossed The Bridge With Pipe In Hand

The other day I had the opportunity to visit the Galenas grow facility in Akron. I had an excellent time talking to the tour guide and asking questions!

For example, I found out the reason the Artifacts jars are kind of sticky on the outside is because of the ink-intensive, layered printing process used in-house to make the labels. I also found out that the weed that Hobbits and wizards smoke in The Lord of the Rings is called Galenas, which is what the company is named after.

While I was hanging out in the break room, one of the employees appreciated my Alestorm shirt and told me he was a huge fan of the band!

During the tour I wasn’t able to find out if Galenas will be moving up to eighths instead of tenths, but I am sure it will happen at some point. However, the rep confirmed that they intentionally weigh their tenths to 3 grams in order to avoid selling slim sacks. I appreciate that, as there have been too many times where I’ve weighed a bag of legal weed only to find I bought less bud than I paid for.

While being guided through the Galenas grow facility I was shown many plants in various stages of growth and processing. The best part of the tour was hanging out amongst the plants with mature buds. They all looked and smelled out-of-this-world, including the colorful Electric Peanut Butter Cookies and stunning Street Tartz, but my favorite was called The Bridge.

The Bridge not only had striking stalks but it smelled of fresh, creamy terpinolene. There was a sharpness to the scent that overwhelmed my senses.

Terpinolene is among my favorite terpenes for smell, taste and effect, so the next day while at a dispensary, I felt compelled to purchase a tenth of The Bridge to sample for the site. It weighed 2.97 grams and featured a high amount of CBGa, which is a cannabinoid I usually don’t see in high amounts when shopping for flower. I associate CBG more with gummies than flower.

According to the packaging, The Bridge’s lineage is Street Guru x 1987. When I broke open the sack, it smelled sweet, sharp and slightly piney. The terpinolene grew tough with this tree. If you are someone who hates terpinolene, you may want to tread with caution while crossing The Bridge.

The bud reflected light and medium green hues and had lots of jagged pistils along with plenty of THCa-containing trichomes. It was sticky and dense yet gave a nice squeeze. There was minimal stemmage. When handling and smoking Galenas flower, you experience living proof that they use living soil and no pesticides while growing their cannabis.

The packaging featured the Galenas wizards crossing a bridge while walking towards a series of fantastic castle-like structures. I was told by the Galenas rep that it usually takes many tries and rejections before the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control approves their artwork for production.

The Bridge bud broke up beautifully. There was no dust or depression as a side effect of running this stuff through a grinder. It packed up nicely in my High Intentions glass chalice. My fingers were stickified as a result of handling this stuff.

While The Bridge was burning I had a wonderful walk. With each step of my stride I grew higher and higher. The burn quality left nothing to desire and the ash color got whiter and whiter. The taste peeled back my face, which is why I smoked every crumb and left nothing to waste.

The effects were sativa-leaning. I was beaming and dreaming up ideas for this review. I felt a heady high, so inspiring and true. My stomach ache shrunk and my goals were in view.

Some people have told me they’ve seen batches of the Bridge that have contained even higher amounts of terpinolene than the batch I sampled for this article.

I gave The Bridge from Galenas a 9/10 for taste, 3/10 for harshness, 8/10 for strength, 8/10 for smell strength and 90 minutes for length of medical effects.

Total THC 22.40%, total CBD 00.05%, delta-9 THC 00.61%, CBDa 00.06%, CBGa 2.02%.

Terps (mg/g): Terpinolene 5.06, s-Limonene 1.86, TransβFarnesene 1.3, β-Caryophyllene 1.22, β-Pinene 1.21, β-Myrcene1.17, Linalool 1.14. All seven listed terps are over 1 mg/g, which in my opinion is some pretty high terp content.

Hundred Percent Labs Jack Herer Sativa Live Resin iKrusher Vape 77% THC: Impressive Uplifting Effects

The first brand I saw on the Ohio legal weed market selling iKrusher disposable vape devices was Certified. Many brands have followed suit, although to my knowledge, Certified remains the only brand filling the devices with live liquid diamonds cannabis oil. All other brands in Ohio that sell iKrusher disposables fill the devices with other types of oil like live resin or CO2 oil.

I’ve done a little research into Mylar material and found it has at least a hundred applications across multiple fields. When used to make baggies, Mylar helps protect food and/or cannabis from loss of freshness and flavor over time. The material can deflect light, moisture and oxygen that would degrade the inside product.

The actual name of Mylar material is BoPET (biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate). Sounds unhealthy! However, food-grade and cannabis-grade Mylar supposedly do not contain phthalates, which are chemicals added to plastics to increase lifespan, durability and flexibility. Phthalates are harmful to human health because they disrupt the body’s hormone systems, behaving as endocrine disruptors.

The Jack Herer iKrusher vape was the same palm-size as any other iKrusher but it had unique artwork. The words “Hundred Percent” were written in gray amongst a white background. The ladybug logo was prominent and there were blue lines that formed a geometric design. The mouthpiece was blue and overall the device was an eye-catcher!

Did you know that the ladybug is Ohio’s state bug and it is a vigilant protector of the cannabis plant? That’s why Hundred Percent Labs uses the lady bug as their logo. An adult ladybug can eat up to 60 aphids per day. Ladybugs also eat mealybugs, spider mites and whiteflies.

As a stoner, I’d like to thank ladybugs for their hard work while protecting our cannabis plants. We’re proud to call you our state bug.

The Jack Herer iKrusher had one gram of live resin oil within the chamber. The THC content was 775mg, there was 4.24mg of CBD and there were a bunch of minor cannabinoids like 41.1mg of CBG, 14.6mg of CBN and 8.88mg of CBC. There were lots of terps listed on the back of the package.

The oil color was golden yellow clearish and it moved very slow when the device was turned upside down, unless it was heated. As is usual with iKrushers, there was no button and the vape was breath activated. There were no temperature settings and there was a USB-C charge port on the bottom.

A friend told me that he once had one of these Hundred Percent Labs iKrushers and when he pulled his USB cord out of the charge port, the entire device fell apart. It became unusable.

Thankfully I have never had that issue with any iKrushers. He told me he will never buy another Hundred Percent Labs iKrusher because of this. I totally understand his reasoning, but unless that happens to me, I’d be willing to buy another one of these devices.

In one word I would say the overall flavor was excellent. It tasted just like Jack Herer should, with terpinolene front and center. Live resin doesn’t have as full-bodied of a taste as you would get from live rosin, so the flavor left a bit to be desired. To me, resin is a bit “thinner” tasting than rosin. However, that’s always something you contend with when buying live resin instead of live rosin, no matter what the brand.

Once in a while I seemed to get a “wicky” hit, where the oil tasted kind of burnt. Thankfully this only happened a few times throughout the vape’s lifespan but I definitely noticed it.

Toke for toke, the live resin tasted and smelled weedy. I really enjoyed the Jack Herer flavor of the oil. While in my pocket the vape didn’t smell too awfully loud but someone with a zero-tolerance nose might be able to detect it on you while not in use.

There’s always a give and take with live resin. It’s usually stronger than distillate but often smells stronger, too. However, I’ve had some pretty weedy-smelling and strong distillate with cannabis-derived terps, such as Aura’s 510s and the distillate vape carts from Lake Effect. Aura is a Hundred Percent Labs brand and Lake Effect is made by Lighthouse Sciences.

The Jack Herer iKrusher’s airflow never let me down and the mouthpiece never got sticky. It only took two to four seconds to get a good-sized draw that produced a nice cloud. I never got a hot hash splash in my mouth and the device was reliable in the field, brandishing a long battery life.

The medical effects were sativa to the max! I was pleasantly surprised with how high this vape got me. I was functional, alert and active. This is exactly why I love sativas! However, a negative aspect of the Jack Herer live resin iKrusher was that it made my voice slightly phlegmmy.

With light usage I made this vape last about a week but it still seemed to burn kind of fast. I used it only at the most crucial times and held each hit in like it was my last to maximize the effects. It can sometimes be so easy to just puff away on your vapes and not truly amplify each toke with the proper time, respect and appreciation. Before you know it, POOF! The vape is oilless.

I gave the Hundred Percent Labs Jack Herer sativa live resin iKrusher disposable an 8/10 for taste, 4/10 for harshness, 8/10 for strength, 7/10 for smell strength and 60 minutes for length of medical effects.

Butterfly Effect Dissolve Infusion Powder: Baked by a Bodacious Brownie

The other day, a friend handed me a Ziploc baggie. “Want a brownie?” He asked.

I responded to his question with a question of my own. “Does it have weed in it?”

“Yeah.” He said. I replied with, “Sure!”

He said the brownie contained 30 to 40 milligrams of Butterfly Effect Dissolve Infusion Powder.

If you’ve never heard of Infusion Powder, it is fast-acting, nanoemulsified THC in powder form that you can add to your food and drinks. Pretty much any food can be made into a THC edible with this stuff. It’s available in three potencies: 110 milligrams, 330 milligrams and 660 milligrams.

I’ve had people ask me if you can snort Infusion Powder. The answer is no!

Nanoemulsified THC is made by taking cannabis distillate, isolate or full-spectrum oil and mixing it with water and surfactants to create an emulsion. These droplets are subjected to extreme forces and broken down into small bits measuring approximately 30 to 90 nanometers. Butterfly Effect uses full-spectrum CO2 oil to make their Dissolve Infusion Powder.

The nanoemulsification process improves THC water solubility and cannabinoid absorption into the body. Basically, it makes THC water soluble rather than fat soluble and allows cannabis to be infused within drinks and powders.

A similar product called Ampersand™ is an edible THC powder made from decarboxylating rosin into edible THC powder. It is a solventless edible that is becoming popular amongst cannabis connoisseurs, but I don’t see it hitting Ohio dispensaries any time soon because of its high THC percentage.

When using Butterfly Effect Dissolve Infusion Powder, keep in mind that carbonation takes away the psychoactive effect. Adding the stuff to soda won’t get you medicated. Also, be careful while cooking with Infusion Powder, as the THC will start to break down around 390 degrees Fahrenheit. I usually just add it to my food after cooking.

Back when I bought some 110 milligram Infusion Powder for myself, I noticed the plastic container was kind of tough to open. When opening your product, pinch the sides of the container and pull up on the lid. Be careful not to jolt your hands and spill the medicine! Consider setting the container down flat on a table while opening.

On its own, the Infusion Powder had a robust marijuana odor. It tasted really strong like weed when poured directly onto my tongue. When mixed with food it depended what I blended it with. I could kind of taste the THC in my orange juice and tea, but I detected no weed at all with the brownie’s rich chocolate masking the marijuana.

Edibles usually don’t do much for me. The most powerful edible I’ve ever had was a homemade cookie, which showed me that homemade stuff can sometimes be better than store-bought.

The 30 to 40 milligram brownie got me a little buzzed shortly after I consumed it. For a few hours after that, I felt no effects, but after some time passed I got super tired. My entire being was in need of restful slumber. I slept well that night, but I won’t be eating any more of these brownies during the day. If I were to eat another one of these it would be an evening dessert.

I gave the Butterfly Effect Dissolve Infusion Powder a 7/10 for harshness (based on eating the powder by itself directly on my tongue), 5/10 for strength, 7/10 for smell strength and 60 to 120 minutes for length of medical effects. The medication length can vary greatly depending on dose size and personal tolerance.

According to the product label, 110 milligrams of Infusion Powder is considered four servings. The container comes with a little serving spoon and two scoops equals one serving. The label on my 110 milligram Infusion Powder stated the following:

Net weight 4.4 grams. Total THC 110.39mg, Delta-9 THC 106.92mg, Delta-9 THCa 3.12mg, THCv 0.73mg, total CBD 0.43mg.

Ingredients: Full spectrum CO2 extracted cannabis oil, sugar alcohol(s), modified tapioca starch, MCT oil, sucrose esters, citric acid, xanthan gum, proprietary food-grade taste modifier(s). No known allergens. Manufactured in a facility that uses milk ingredients.

CAUTION: THC concentration levels are based on the powder mix. The effect and concentration may vary when introduced into water. For best results, mix 2 scoops (1 serving) with 6 fl. oz. of water.
Galenas Fey Fire Hybrid Flower 25.1% THC: Fey Fire Fo Fum, I Smell Some Bud And I Would Like Some

Galenas is among only a few Ohio cultivators that I am aware of who seek a Certified Kind accreditation for their crops. This means Galenas follows internationally accepted norms for organic crops and processed products. Since the USDA essentially owns the word “organic”, and the USDA can’t work with cannabis because it is a schedule 1 drug, cannabis companies cannot legally call their bud “organic”.

A loyal reader of Bill’s Bud Blog recently gifted me a 1.21 gram sample of Fey Fire from Galenas. It was generous gift considering Galenas is typically among the most expensive brands on the market, due in part to their dedication of quality and consistency. I had seen Fey Fire on marijuana menus in recent times and was thankful for the opportunity to review the strain!

Fey Fire’s lineage is Strawberry Gushers x THC Bomb. The buds looked absolutely wonderful, featuring plenty of trikes and pistils that made me look forward to the session. There were several shades of green within the nugs but there also seemed to be some purple within the mix.

The Fey Fire buds smelled like a field of strawberries and weed. The sweet smell was accompanied by some spicy and earthy underliers. I noticed hints of hops and fruit within the aroma. Any smoker would have appreciated the strain’s loud and sweet scent.

The nugs were reasonably dense and gave a nice squeeze. They weren’t overly dry, and through my grinder only a tiny amount of dust was produced.

Upon firing up the flower and taking a few tokes I discovered the Fey Fire had some unique qualities. Despite featuring caryophyllene as the top terpene, the stuff smoked very smooth. For me the vapors were not harsh whatsoever and they didn’t make me cough or choke. The bud also tasted relatively sweet for something so high in caryophyllene.

A lot of the flavor was spicy and woody but I totally detected the myrcene fruitiness in there. The exhale was smooth and I didn’t get any weird chemical aftertaste, probably due to the Certified Kind growing standards.

Due to being under 0.3% Delta-9 THC, you could say the Fey Fire technically qualifies as hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill

For me the effects were sativa-leaning, maybe due to the strain’s healthy amount of humulene and limonene. I was giggly, uplifted and upbeat yet focused and motivated. The stuff didn’t make me tired on the comedown, just a bit hungry and relaxed. The medical effects lasted about an hour and a half.

I’ve seen this strain available in both tenths and half ounces. After this sample, I’m tempted to buy myself a half. Good strains come and go due to a variety of reasons, and when you find a cut that you really like, it’s always a good idea to stock up before it’s gone for good.

Meigs County Wizard Spray #1 Sativa Flower 20.90% THC: The Blizzard Stayed, So I Smoked Wizard Spray

While conversing with stoners in recent times I have heard a lot of good things about the Meigs County Wizard Spray sativa flower. Since I love sativa strains high in terpinolene, I figured I’d go ahead and get a half ounce. According to my scale it weighed 14.11 grams, 0.04 grams short of a full half ounce.

The Wizard Spray #1’s lineage was Cherry Licorice Wizard x Bear Spray. The bud came packaged in a brown Mylar baggie that said Meigs County Finest Quality Ohio Grown Cannabis – Country Cut. The nugs felt squishy through the bag. I didn’t hear any crunches or crackles while touching the bud through the bag.

When I opened the Mylar, the scent set a high bar! The bud smelled fresh and super terpinolene-heavy. Even just the smell of the flower gave me a jolt of energy. Terpenes like this are exactly why Meigs County has become one of the most sought-after growers for Ohio cannabis consumers.

These nugs were sticky and trichome-laced. Bright green was the dominant hue, followed by some mid-range greens and lots of curly orange pistils. The buds gave an excellent squish yet at the same time had robust denseness. The trim was slightly rough in some spots but nothing to really be concerned about.

Wizard Spray’s nugs broke up into nice chunks with my fingers that I then stuck into my grinder. There was absolutely no dust produced through the grinder, only fluffy, packable pot ready to be smoked and enjoyed.

I was impressed with this weed’s freshness considering how difficult it can be to buy dispensary dope that doesn’t poof into powder when pulverized. There was no humidity pack inside of the bag, either, rendering the feat of freshness even more impressive.

The burn speed of the Wizard Spray #1 was about medium and it produced a light ash color. It wasn’t harsh by any means and it totally tasted like it smelled. While smoking Wizard Spray I could detect the flavor of myrcene’s fruitiness in the background.

The bud was terpinolene-heavy not only in smell and taste but also effect. This strain provided a headband-like cerebral buzz that dissolved much of my back pain yet didn’t leave me languid.

A long time reader of the blog had this to say about the Wizard Spray:

“Meigs County Wizard Spray was very earthy and tasted fruity. It grinded nice but be careful about rolling it too tight because it is sticky. A small bud goes a long way! I had six bowls out of one big bud.”

After writing this review, I couldn’t help but think the following thought:

When I opened the Mylar, the scent set a high bar.
Got a half of Wizard Spray sittin’ in my jar.
Take some tokes and tell some jokes so my mind can fly far.
Up here in the clouds, gettin’ baked with the sky stars.

Top terpenes: terpinolene 1.78%, b-myrcene 1.47%, d-limonene 0.41%, b-pinene 0.24%. It seems to be rare to see a strain where caryophyllene isn’t listed as a top terp.

Meigs County Animal Mints Hybrid Flower 26.4% THC: This Weed Is Worthy Of Your Wallet

I stored the nugget inside of a jar until I was ready to review

The other day a Bill’s Bud Blog reader procured a half ounce of Meigs County Animal Mints hybrid flower and offered me a nug. I accepted the generous offer. Thank you!

There are a lot of superb Meigs County strains available to try, such as Black Maple #22, Cranberry Z and Strawberry Chocolate. I had yet to try the Animal Mints and based on what I saw with this nug, I was in for a treat.

Animal Mints from Meigs County is a 26.4% THC hybrid flower heavy in limonene, linalool and caryophyllene. According to the Meigs County website, the strain’s lineage is Animal Cookies x SinMint Cookies. I love how Meigs County prints strain lineages on its labels, unlike many other legal Ohio cultivators.

The half ounce originally came packaged in a Mylar bag with a see-through window on the bottom. It had a sweet, light smell to it, with hints of spice and floral fumes. I did not weigh the bud but it provided me with two fat bowls, so it was no doubt a nice-sized nugget.

The Animal Mints bud was beautiful and was among the best-looking stuff I’ve seen from a licensed Ohio dispensary. It was absolutely covered in glistening trichomes and had cool-looking orange pistils.

The nug was light green and contained no unneeded stems or unsmokable matter. The only stem was the one shooting through the middle of the bud and it was easy to remove. The picture below was taken after I had already smoked half of the nug.

Another thing I appreciated about this flower was the fact is wasn’t dry. It gave a nice healthy squish and actually stuck to my finger, a rarity in legal Ohio cannabis. It didn’t crunch or explode when put through the squeeze test and produced very little if any dust when I shredded it through a grinder.

Should all legal weed behave like this? If you ask me, the answer is yes. However, these ideal nug properties can be difficult to come across when buying Ohio dispensary weed. Thank you Meigs County for providing Ohio stoners with smokable bud!

The Animal Mints flower burned pretty slow and ashed white in color. It wasn’t overly harsh whatsoever and tasted limonene-heavy. The linalool added some nice smooth contrast to the limonene’s sharpness, while the caryophyllene acted like a glue in the background to ground the flavors together as one. I liked the taste of this stuff. It wasn’t earthy, dirty or unclean in flavor whatsoever.

The medical effects were slightly sativa-leaning for me, about 60/40. I didn’t feel tired but I was at ease, composed and able to get my stuff done. I didn’t get too much of a head buzz like I do with many sativa-dominant strains, but I was still able to focus and work. I also felt my neck and lower back pain melt away for a bit, which was a welcomed side effect. I’d recommend this strain for both daytime and nighttime use, as I was not tired, not wired, just chilled and thrilled that I received such an excellent sample.

I gave the Animal Mints flower from Meigs County a 7 for taste, 3 for harshness, 7 for strength, 6 for smell strength and 60 to 75 minutes for length of medical effects.

Farmaceutical RX grows legal, organic cannabis in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Not unlike Galenas, FRX flower is Certified Kind. This means FRX pays a third-party company to inspect their grow operation to ensure the flower is grown to “organic” standards using no harmful pesticides, fungicides, growth accelerators or plant growth regulators (PGRs).

It is surprising how many chemicals are allowed to be used on legal cannabis crops in Ohio, both medical and recreational. Check it out for yourself on the Ohio.gov website. When reading the cultivator list, keep in mind a level 1 license allows a cultivator to produce more cannabis than those that hold a level 2 license. Smaller, level 3 grow farms were approved by Ohio voters back in 2023 but there has been significant pushback and it has yet to materialize.

Banana Kush from Farmaceutical RX is an indica cross between Ghost OG and Skunk Haze. It came packaged in a glass jar with a plain black label that featured a Certified Kind logo. When I opened the container I was hit with a bold scent that undoubtedly gave me sweet banana vibes. I could smell the terpinolene and looked forward to finding out if this pot tasted like it smelled.

My tenth of FRX Banana Kush weighed 2.93 grams, which was exactly one tenth of a gram over weight. This was refreshing given the fact that a lot of my recent tenth purchases have weighed under 2.83 grams.

The Banana Kush flower had a real nice, trichome-laden look to it. The stems were snipped and the leaves were left behind. All that remained was premium, smokable pot that made my lungs leap with excitement in anticipation of combustion. The buds were not dry and they gave a nice squish when squeezed.

When broken down through my grinder, the Banana Kush did not turn to bone dust like Pure Ohio’s Locally Grown cannabis. The Banana Kush broke down like you’d expect and appreciate. When broken apart by finger, the trichomes remained on the buds and the flower cooperated in becoming nice little chunks.

I didn’t get much throat harshness while burning the Banana Kush, which was welcomed. It didn’t make me phlegmy and didn’t leave a bad aftertaste in my mouth.

The flavor of the flower was just as I had hoped for upon my first whiff. It had a sweet terpinolene tang that absolutely reminded me of bananas. I recently had a half ounce of Banana Skunkberry from Certified, and compared to that strain, I’d say the FRX Banana Kush had much more of a banana-y flavor.

A friend recently told me they didn’t think the FRX Banana Kush had a whole lot of banana taste to it, but that’s not quite the vibe I got. While I will agree with them in that I have tried bud with even more of a banana taste, like some homegrown Apples and Bananas flower given to me by a friend, I still thought the FRX Banana Kush had a real nice banana-y scent and flavor. It tasted terpinolene-heavy, which is a terpene that has always reminded me of bananas going back to when I first started smoking.

Back in the day, once in a while I’d acquire a bag of weed that just smelled and tasted like bananas, and I could never figure out why. The Jack Herer strain was always one that gave me those vibes. It wasn’t until years later when I started learning about terpenes that I realized terpinolene was responsible for that signature smell I always associated with bananas.

The FRX Banana Kush had calming, pain-punting effects. It was soothing, yet not sedative. I maintained a high level of focus and could totally feel the terpinolene head buzz.

Typically, terpinolene is associated with sativa-like effects, so I was surprised to see this strain listed as an indica. However, it does seem that banana strains are usually indica-leaning.

Does FRX determine indica or sativa by plant structure, and not terpenes? Someone told me that’s how Klutch determines their indica/sativa labeling. Who am I to know? I just smoke the medicine and appreciate the effects.

I gave the Banana Kush from Farmaceutical RX an 8 out of 10 for taste, 3 out of 10 for harshness, 8 out of 10 for strength, 7 out of 10 for smell strength, and 60 minutes for length of medical effects.

Ohio Homegrown Cherry Zoap Flower: A Gift From The Ground

There’s a grow shop in Akron called Indoor Gardens that offers a cannabis-growing class. Upon completion of the course, the instructors give each student a few cuttings in order to start their own small garden. A blog reader took the Indoor Gardens class and gave me a sample of his hybrid Cherry Zoap cut. Thank you for the weed!

My sample of Cherry Zoap weighed 2.0 grams. The bud had a very sweet and fruity smell to it. The scent definitely gave me cherry vibes.

The nugs were trimmed nicely, with no visible stems, sugar leaves or leafy material. They were bright green in color with tiny, curly orange pistils that stuck close to the bud. Shiny trichomes were visible both on the outside and inside of the flower.

The nugs were far from dry. They gave a very nice squeeze and did not make a crunching sound while doing so. Flakes did not fall off while breaking the bud apart with my fingers, which is not something you can always say with dispensary weed.

For example, I recently bought a tenth of Jack Le’Pew from the Pure Ohio Wellness “Locally Grown” brand. The bud was dry as bone.

The ideal properties of the fresh, homegrown Cherry Zoap carried over to my grinder. When shredded through the Santa Cruz Shredder, or mashed though the Flower Mill, the Cherry Zoap held its own and behaved as expected. It didn’t turn to a powdery dust like some of the dryer strains I sample.

The Cherry Zoap burned at about a medium speed and ashed very light. I could tell it was flushed properly by both the ash color and taste. I didn’t taste any earth, dirt or nutrients.

There was an almost candy-like sweetness to the flavor. Alongside that, I could slightly detect the Zoap’s gassy, gluey properties. The top terpenes were probably limonene, myrcene, caryophyllene and maybe some ocimene or humulene. The smoke was not harsh and did not make me cough or produce phlegm.

The medical effects were pretty chill but I did seem to get sort of a sativa-like head buzz. This strain did not make me anywhere near sleepy, but I felt unmistakable body relaxation and pain relief. It also took away a nagging headache that was driving me crazy. The Cherry Zoap was excellent for use during morning and mid-day house chores.

I gave the homegrown Cherry Zoap hybrid a 7/10 for taste, 3/10 for harshness, 7/10 for strength, 6/10 for smell strength and 60 to 90 minutes for length of medical effects. Thanks again to the contributor for the excellent sample! May your thumb become greener with each harvest.
UB Good Gummies: Juicy Pear 1:10 THC:CBD and Cherry Pomegranate 50mg THC

UB Good, owned by One Orijin, is a cannabis processor that currently operates in Maryland, Nevada and Ohio. They take cannabis grown by others and use it to make a variety of products, such as distillate-infused gummies, hard candies/mints, capsules (pills), sublingual sprays and tinctures. They also process distillate for disposables and 510 carts. Their resin and rosin is sold under the brand name UB Good Labs, which is often listed as a separate company on most dispensary menus.

Some of the most popular THC gummies in Ohio are made by UB Good. This is because of their vegan nature (they’re made with pectin, not gelatin), accurate and consistent dosing, wide availability and low price point. On a non-sale day, an Ohio recreational customer can usually walk out of a dispensary with a 100mg 10-pack of UB Good gummies for around $20.

Since my body doesn’t give much of a reaction to edibles in general, I usually don’t buy UB Good gummies. However, a lot of people that I know who do get medicated from edibles say that UB Good gummies are their go-to. I was recently given a few UB Good edibles by fans of the blog, so in order to thank them, I’d like to share my thoughts about the products.

Most UB Good gummies come in 100mg 10-packs, which equals 10mg of THC per gummy. Each piece is individually wrapped for maximum freshness and portability. You won’t have to worry about opening up the 10-pack and having half of the gummies stuck to each other.

Each gummy is perforated so you can easily turn it into two 5mg doses. Cannabis users with low tolerances can make a 100mg 10-pack last 20 doses by tearing each piece in half. UB Good gummies have light sugar coating with a soft consistency. They aren’t gooey and don’t get stuck to the teeth.

The following UB Good gummies contain THC as their only cannabinoid: indica Orange Dreamcicle, hybrid Wild Berry Hibiscus, sativa Black Cherry Lemonade, high dose hybrid Pineapple Punch and high dose hybrid Cherry Pomegranate.

The hybrid Blueberry Lemonade 1:1 gummies have 10mg of THC and 10mg of CBD per piece. The hybrid Ginger Peach 1:1 gummies have 10mg of THC and 10mg of CBG per piece. The sativa Watermelon Lime 1:1 gummies have 10mg of THC and 10mg of CBC per piece. The indica Razzzberry Sleep gummies have 10mg of THC and 10mg of CBN per piece.

The first product I am reviewing in this article is a hybrid Juicy Pear 1:10 high CBD gummy. There are 20 pieces in each pack. Each piece has 5mg of THC and 50mg of CBD. When torn in half, each half contains 2.5mg of THC and 25mg of CBD. I’ve also seen this 1:10 dose available in a Peach Mango flavor, which is exclusive to Bloom dispensaries.

The Juicy Pear 1:10 gummies are well-liked by people who suffer from various forms of pain and inflammation. The high amount of CBD combined with a small splash of THC is exactly what Dr. Feelgood ordered to numb what is dumb and quell living hell. For many, the Juicy Pear gummies don’t provide much of a high, because the large dose of CBD seems to taper off most of the THC’s psychoactive effects.

The Juicy Pear 1:10 gummy tasted really good. I could barely taste the hash within. I enjoyed the flavor so much that I couldn’t help but think I wish they would sell these in a non-psychoactive form.

About 30 minutes after eating one of the Juicy Pear 1:10 gummies, I was surprised to find that I felt more medicated than I thought I would. It wasn’t anything outrageous, but I undoubtedly had an extra pep in my step. I completely forgot about the nagging lower back pain that was slowing my gait. Upon realizing that the gummy did more than I thought it would, I gained a new appreciation for edibles that contain both THC and CBD.

I gave the UB Good Juicy Pear 1:10 THC:CBD gummy a 9 out of 10 for taste, 2 out of 10 for harshness, 6 out of 10 for strength, 5 out of 10 for smell strength (I couldn’t smell the weed) and 2 to 3 hours for length of medical effects.

Maybe it was something about the entourage between the THC and CBD that made the Juicy Pear gummy seem somewhat strong even though it contained very little THC. I often hear that CBD tapers off the psychoactive effects of THC, but that may not be the case for every person in every scenario.

In legal Ohio edible cannabis markets, “high dose” is considered 50mg or 55mg of THC per piece. By law, that is the highest amount of THC allowed in one dose. An entire package cannot contain more than 550mg of THC. Lawmakers are talking about lowering this limit for recreational users down to a maximum of 110mg of THC per package. Let’s hope this immoral initiative gets stomped out efficiently, as many recreational users take cannabis for medical purposes. Cannabis should be available in all forms for everyone’s benefit, not just those registered in a state-legal medical marijuana program.

550mg per pack is much less THC than what is considered “high dose” in other states. People from New York have told me about their 1000mg chocolate bars. I’ve seen gummies from Michigan that contain 100mg per piece with a little disclaimer on the back of the package that says “cut each gummy into fifths to create 20mg doses”. Those gummies were small and unperforated, so cutting them accurately into fifths would be a tough task. I ate the whole piece and felt nothing.

I was given a high dose UB Good Cherry Pomegranate gummy that contained 50mg of THC. Many people get long-lasting, powerful medical effects from both these and the high dose Pineapple gummies. I don’t care for the flavor of pineapple gummies, but the Cherry Pomegranate treat tasted terrific. I could taste the hash in these ones much more than I could in the lower dose Juicy Pear gummies.

A few hours after consumption, I remembered that I had eaten the UB Good high dose gummy. At that moment I realized that I hadn’t felt medicated the entire time.

It’s strange how edibles don’t do much for me. I have heard that certain people have stomach enzymes that break down THC faster than others. I have also heard that those with fast metabolisms don’t feel strong effects from edibles. Whatever the case may be, this experience reminded me why I don’t buy edibles: because they simply don’t do much for me.

I gave the UB Good Cherry Pomegranate 50mg gummy an 8 out of 10 for taste, 4 out of 10 for harshness (the distillate inside of UB Good gummies is made using a solvent), 1 out of 10 for strength (many others would give this edible a much higher strength rating), 5 out of 10 for smell strength (I couldn’t really smell the weed) and 0 minutes for length of medical effects.

I have also tried UB Good’s 550mg Relief Capsules, which is a bottle with 11 capsules each containing 50mg of THC. I’ve had some people tell me that one of the 50mg UB Good Relief Capsules is exactly the dose that works well for them. I once took six of these capsules (300mg) before a comedy show and felt nothing other than a slight headache and some sleepiness.

Taking too much THC can actually have the opposite effect of ingesting a smaller dose. When I eat too many edibles, I get a headache and feel nauseous, which are two symptoms that are relieved when I smoke or vape some cannabis. Different delivery methods and doses can work in unique ways for each individual.
Meigs County Parfait Hybrid Flower 22.70% THC: I’d Go A Far Way For Some Parfait

Meigs County flower has a pretty good reputation amongst the stoners I meet and talk to. The only criticism I’ve heard are complaints about Meigs 510 carts switching from cured resin to distillate.

When I reviewed the Meigs County Truffaloha flower last year I didn’t like the way it burned or tasted. That’s not to say they haven’t put out some good bud, because I really enjoyed their Black Maple #22, Strawberry Guava, Swampwater Fumez, Cactus Cookies and Rainbow Guava. A friend recently gifted me a tenth of Meigs County Parfait to blaze and review. Thank you!

Agri-Med Ohio, LLC grows Meigs County flower. Agri-Med Ohio is owned by Ethos Cannabis. The lineage of their Parfait strain is Zpumoni x Key Limeade. It came packaged in the “Country Cut” orange Mylar baggie with see-through bottom, not an opaque ceramic jar.

The buds smelled sweet with a bit of spiciness. There was also a nice smooth floral aroma buried within. It had a good marijuana scent to it but I wouldn’t call it the dankest or skunkiest of smells.

I didn’t get a chance to weigh the tenth before initial consumption. The tenth consisted of three buds, one of them smaller than the other two. It almost seemed like not enough weed to be a tenth but I soon realized that the buds were super dense. They gave no squeeze.

These nugs looked real nice! There was virtually no stem present and zero sugar leaves or unappealing junk. The bud contained a variety of colors, such as light green, purple, white shiny trichomes and curly orange pistils. There were a lot of trichomes on this stuff. It kind of reminded me of a snow cap.

The Parfait was dry. It became dust through a grinder. As I handled the bud, little bits of plant material and trikes fell off. When I cracked open a nug, small weed chunks flew across the table. In the image below you can see an example of this after I broke up a nug.

Meigs County’s Parfait burned at about a medium speed. Even though it was devoid of moisture, it didn’t immediately incinerate, which was nice. It also didn’t taste too dry. It had a sweet, limonene-heavy taste, and I could definitely detect linalool’s gracefulness. The linalool did a nice job of balancing out the sweeter limonene and spicier caryophyllene.

While the Parfait was a hybrid according to its labeling and terpenes, my experienced effects were a bit headier and sativa-leaning. This could be due to the 0.56% limonene and 0.11% humulene content. For me, humulene makes me feel like a human being, and when it is featured in a terp profile I often get swooped in a sativa soundwave.

Although the nugs were definitely drier than I’d prefer, I still enjoyed the Parfait from Meigs County. It had a nice taste and the medical effects were pain-relieving yet not sedating. It burned well and ashed light. Thanks again to the contributor for the sample!
