Bill’s Bud Blog is one man’s journey through a maze of marijuana.
In 2019 novel cannabinoids like Delta-8 THC and Delta-10 THC hit the federally legal market. Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, all cannabinoids besides Delta-9 THC were descheduled and allowed to be sold across state lines, as long as they were derived from hemp.
The 2018 Farm Bill essentially changed the legal definition of the word “hemp” to mean “any cannabis flower testing less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC”. As long as the novel cannabinoids were extracted from hemp grown by licensed farmers, they were legal. It is still federally illegal for average citizens without a license to grow or process hemp.
I was interested to find out how I’d respond to these legal cannabinoids. I began compiling a spreadsheet called the Cannabinoid Compendium to compare the differences in their effects, tastes, prices and packaging.
Eventually Delta-9 THC products were incorporated into the Compendium. As of 05/29/2025 there are 420 product entries in the spreadsheet. Bill’s Bud Blog is the next phase of the Cannabinoid Compendium, where I am able to sample cannabis wares and inform others of my experiences.
Marijuana with Delta-9 THC is now legal to grow, possess and use in Ohio. No longer must we shroud the benefits associated with responsible cannabis use. We shall embrace this opportunity to honor the legacy of those who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to make legalization a reality.
